Self Portrait 2023
As an admirer of the Old Masters, and 17th century Dutch painters in particular, I decided to paint this self-portrait against a pair of Nicolaes Maes pendant portraits on the background wall. Indirectly, the portrait llinks back to Rembrandt since Maes at the age of 12 started his training in Rembrandt`s studio.
